Quilt Block Exchange: Liz’s Blocks

This month, March, we turned in for the quilt exchange all the blocks that we made for Liz out of her focus fabric. Her fabric was a large floral print of cream flowers on a leafy green background. My block was the Inside Out Pineapple block which is free on Craftsy. It doesn’t come with comprehensive cutting instructions, so I had to measure every single piece so I could write my own. And it’s a good thing I did because I found a mistake! Instead of both being exactly 1″ wide, piece 15 is a bit too wide and is eating into piece 11. I corrected it by drawing in my own line where it should be. I also figured out that for little 1/4″ wide strips you need 3/4″ of seam allowance and fudge room.

Some of these look oddly similar….

Here are all the blocks turned in for Liz, minus Peggy’s because she wasn’t at the meeting. And yes two of them are the same block and another one is only very slightly different. Three people independently arrived at the same conclusion it seems!
